 Cut back on erosion

Native Trees Fight Erosion

Help reduce erosion on your property by planting native trees!
A certain amount of erosion is natural and actually healthy for an ecosystem. However, an area with limited or no vegetation is extremely susceptible to unhealthy erosion. In this type of exposed area, stormwater runoff rushes across the ground, scraping away sediments and sweeping it directly into our waterways. Increased sediment in our streams decreases water quality, creating problems for fish and wildlife. Planting native trees slows stormwater runoff, which helps preserve your streambank and prevent property loss due to erosion. The root system of native trees and shrubs holds the soil down reducing erosion problems enhancing fish and wildlife habitat.
